I would give MBC zero stars if I could. The only reason I'm writing this is to warn others. They harass, bully and talk down to people, they offer little to no help in gaining employment and when you find your own they hound you in order to get their bonus. Do not go to these people.

I was recently transferred to MBC Employment Services from my previous job provider Konekt & I thought i'd give them a chance. However, my experience with this job provider has been extremely disappointing to say the least.

In my first appointment with them my case manager placed me into a work for the dole program, even though i requested to take the option of studying instead & chose a course from the HUGE selection of 3 courses ran by a single education company that were presented to me (which I was made to choose from on the spot with no information).

Also, when I asked about getting some assistance with paying for the driver test to get my license (which Konekt was in the process of helping me out with at the time I was transferred to MBC), my case manager told me to just pay for it myself & they might be able to reimburse me...

The staff did tell me repeatedly how they are "A 5 Star Job Provider" which, honestly, would have been more believable If I hadn't left the appointment feeling extremely underwhelmed & disappointed by the whole experience...

The lower level employee's are nice people who attempt their Job.

The higher level employee's are (from my experience) are not worth dealing with as it will only give you a headache and question what lies they put on their resume to get the job.

    - I've felt brushed off and rushed every time I've been there

    - I've not been given all the information I feel should be given, instead I've had to ask many questions or found out once too late

    - I've not been offered or directed to more support despite me talking about needing more support each time I've dealt with MBC

    - I've not had anyone ask about barriers relevant to jobseeking or services with MBC - for example I was given a phone appointment when I have anxiety in regards to phone calls

    - Confidentiality/consent issues - calls were made to old references from an old resume (3 years old) without me knowing or consenting - conversation could have followed with someone who I was uncomfortable with talking about me. When I raised this issue in person I was given no apology and spoken to as if I was being unreasonable or difficult

    - Confidentiality/security - when I was told to download my resume on one of your computers, the downloads file was full of other people's resumes and other sensitive documents. I deleted all of these including my own. I was also told to put my resume onto a usb handed to me - this USB also had other people's resumes and documents

-Accessability/accomodation. When I contacted them about the above issues and asked to be transferred to another service, I did so via email and asked that they email back as I'm unable to call due to anxiety barriers. They immediately called and left a voice message asking me to call back. I emailed and repeated my request for contact via email. They responded that that it was required to talk to me as part of procedure to discuss transferring me. I accepted and said I could still talk to them, but via email. This went back and fourth a couple times before I got transferred to the team leader. This back and forth continued at least three more times and I saw no improvement in attitude. Then instead of transferring me or telling me what to do next, they told me they were just going to "close my case"

-Ignored formal complaint. After the multiple issues I had and the poor handling of my situation I informed them that I wanted to put my issues forward to be dealt with as a formal complaint. I repeated this at least three times, the last being after the said they "closed my case". They completely ignored my request to be informed of the process for making a formal complaint. They completely ignored the fact that I said formal complaint at all. They never responded to my final email pointing out that they had not addressed that I wanted to make a formal complaint.

If you have a disability, or face any kind of barriers especially related to mental health - don't come here. They take advantage of your vulnerability - from being sloppy with your personal details to refusing to be acomodating and addressing your needs/barriers, to flat out refusing to adress any issues you raise.

Don't forget that these people are only here to meet their target KPI. You're just a number, you don't matter to them. They don't care about your barriers, who you are, or what you want to do. I understand it's a business and numbers matter, but here it really shows, it's almost like that's ALL that matters.
